Cambridge OCD Conference

Our 2010 conference takes place at the Churchill College in Cambridge.

Churchill College, Storey's Way, Cambridge, CB3 ODS

Churchill College is situated to the north west of Cambridge, with easy access from the M11 motorway. Ample free parking is provided at the College.

We are more than happy to provide travel advice and support to anybody that requires it, please feel free to contact us should you require any assistance. We hope this travel information will be of help in allowing you to find your way to the 2010 OCD-UK conference.

Arriving by Car and Parking

Please use the postcode CB3 ODS for your Sat Nav. The college venue has approximate 150 car parking spaces available, but the Madingley Road Park and Ride is also very close to the college campus.

From the M11 (going North)
Exit at Junction 13. Turn right into Madingley Road. Follow the road down towards the City Centre. Take the left turn into Storey's Way and Churchill College is on the left. There is no exit at Junction 13 on the M11 travelling South.

From the A428 (to and from the West)
Take exit marked for Cambridge and this will bring you down in to Madingley Road. Follow the road down towards the City Centre, following the above instructions from the M11.

From the City Centre
Storey's Way is the second turning on the right as you come out of Cambridge along the Madingley Road to the M11 and A428. This junction is marked with a traffic island in the middle of the road. Turn into Storey's Way and Churchill College is on the left.

From the A14 (East)
Take exit marked for Cambridge at Histon and this will bring you down to a large junction with several traffic lights. Here turn right onto the A1134. At the next lights turn left onto A1134 signposted ring road then immediately right still the A1134 (ring road). Bear left onto Shelly Row and then right onto Albion Row. At the traffic lights turn right onto Madingley Road (A1303). Churchill College is on the corner of Storey's Way on the right hand side.

From the A14 (North West)
Follow the signs for Cambridge City Centre. This brings you down along the Huntingdon Road. Pass Girton College and NIAB on your left. Take the next right hand turning which is marked by a turning lane in the centre of the road with bollards and on the corner of Storey's Way is the Cambridge Lodge Hotel with a white wall. Follow along Storey's Way following the instructions as for 'From the A14 (East)'.

 

Arriving by Train

Cambridge railway station has a frequent service from London, the Midlands and the North and a direct link from Stansted Airport, as well as plentiful local services.

Cambridge is a 50 minute journey from London Kings Cross and Liverpool Street stations.   There are currently several timed services on Saturday 4th December 2010 that will arrive in Cambridge in time to reach the college and the start of the conference. 07:28 and 07:58 from Liverpool Street. 07:45, 07:52, 08:06 from Kings Cross, (earlier trains are also available).

From other mainline stations, there are the following timed services that should see you arrive in time for our conference, some may require changes.  06:22 and 06:30 from Birmingham. 06:02 and 06:28 from Nottingham. 06:10 from Leeds. 06:00 from Newcastle. 05:40 from Bristol. 06:49 from Brighton. 06:01 or 06:18 from Derby.

Cambridge railway station (Station Road, CB1 2JW ) is situated only 2.3 miles from Churchill College, approx 10 minute taxi ride, or 45-55 minute walk.

Stagecoach operate a daily network of frequent bus routes around the city. There are no direct bus services to Churchill College, but if you walk to the end of Station Road (onto Hills Road) and catch the Green Bus (number  99) to Drummer Street bus station (D2 stop).

From the same stop, board the Red Bus (number 77) to Storeys Way bus stop on Madingley Road, the college is just across the road up Storey’s Way.

Both buses run frequently, every 10 minutes.  The journey from the station to the college should take 30 minutes.

 

Arriving by Coach

Coach services are available from London Victoria and other parts of the country by National Express. National Express Airport run services to and from UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.

Arriving by Air

Stansted is the nearest airport, just a 40 minute journey with frequent bus services into Cambridge.

Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton airports are within two hours drive.

Local Bus Services

Information on bus services in Cambridge can be found on the Cambridge City Council website.  

'Stagecoach' operate a daily network of frequent bus routes around the city. Red Bus (number 77) from Madingley Road to the city centre bus station (D2 stop) runs frequently, every ten minutes.  

If proceeding on to the railway station, from the same bus stop board the Green Bus (number  99) to the Hills Road bus stop at the top of Station Road. Again, this bus runs frequently, every ten minutes.

Once at Campus

Once you arrive at the college head into the Porters Lodge entrance shown on the map below (and shown in the image below). Once inside, head along corridor 1 on the map, and head for the Wolfson Hall which is number 4 on the map. There you will find the OCD-UK Registration desk where you will be asked for your name (or the name of the person that booked your ticket). You won't need to bring any tickets with you, we will have a registration list available on the day.
