OCD Ice-Breaker

Open the GP Ice Breaker. PDF 44kb

Sometimes people with OCD are worried about opening up about their OCD, so if you are not sure what to say to your GP, then we have created a GP Ice-Breaker printout to help you during your first appointment.

You can download and print the single page ice-breaker sheet below.  If you are unable to print it, please send a SAE to us, requesting the sheet, and we will send a copy to you.

One aspect of OCD which is perhaps more difficult to admit to having is intrusive thoughts about causing inappropriate harm to a child. So we have created a specific Ice Breaker to cover this more delicate aspect of OCD.

The purpose of this is to allow someone with this form of OCD explain it clearly to a health professional and help minimise potential risk of misunderstanding. It will also ensure that the health professional is less likely to misunderstand the conversation and ensure that they are given tools to help them correctly assess the risk, or rather the lack of risk,in the person with OCD.

You can download and print the single page ice-breaker sheet below.  If you are unable to print it, please send a SAE to us, requesting the 'Harm OCD Ice Breaker', and we will send a copy to you.
