If you shop at Waitrose please nominate OCD-UK as your chosen local charity by completing the nomination form found in store.
Three good causes receive a share of £1,000 every month from the Waitrose Community Matters initiative. The charities and community groups are selected by nominations from customer and Waitrose employees, so please be sure to nominate OCD-UK in your local store.
Customers shopping in store are given a green token in which they can vote for which of that month’s three charities they want to receive the donation by placing the token in one of three Perspex tubes. At the end of the month the cash is divided up in proportion to the number of tokens a charity has received.
You can also save your green tokens when you shop until OCD-UK is nominated in your store, or to send to OCD-UK so that we can pass the tokens to volunteers where there is an OCD-UK nomination in a Waitrose store near them.
To nominate OCD-UK just pick up a leaflet in the store from the customer services desk, and complete the details and then hand back to the customer service desk. The form is very brief, and will take just a couple of minutes to complete. You can also download and print out a copy of the form here. We have provided some example wording for you below:
I think OCD-UK (*town/county name* project of national charity) deserves support from Community Matters because OCD-UK is a charity supporting children and adults affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, which is an often overlooked illness that can really have a devastating impact on sufferers.
Contact details of nominated cause (if known) OCD-UK, PO Box 8955, Nottingham, NG10 9AU (volunteers based in *town/county name*)
If OCD-UK is nominated and successful in receiving a donation, we will be sure to spend that donation in the local area where the store is based. This may be through funding a local support group, hosting an OCD awareness event or distributing OCD educational materials around local schools, universities and mental health centres.
To find your local Waitrose store click here and please do pop in to nominate OCD-UK and do let us know if OCD-UK is nominated in your local store so that we can update this webpage.
