YOUNG PEOPLE

OCD Ambassador

Over the next three years we're running a Young People's OCD Ambassador project for teenagers aged 13-18.

What We're Looking For

01. At least 60 teenagers aged 13-18 for the project that want to talk about their experiences of OCD. Be that in written form, podcast, video or some kind of artistic contribution.

02. Young people aged 19-21 to support the project lead, Sue and to share their experiences of struggling with OCD during their teenage years.

Bid Writers

In order to deliver our services, we need to help securing funding and writing fundraising bids.

What We're Looking For

01. Do you have good English and grammar?

02. Do you have the ability to capture key points in limited wording to 'sell' a project?

03. Additionally if you have knowledge on how to source potential new funding streams we want to hear from you!

Proofreaders

We need help checking and proof reading our website articles, magazines and other publications.

What We're Looking For

01. Do you have a good understanding of English and grammar?

02. Are you free at relatively short notice to check content (sent via email)?

03. Do you have a good understanding of OCD to reflect on what is being read to make informed comments on suggested text changes?

Conference Help

This year's conference is to be held on Saturday 10th November in Brighton.

What We're Looking For

01. Can you get to Brighton on Saturday 10th November for 8:00am and volunteer your time until 6pm?

02. Are you good with people? Do you have a friendly, smiley, welcoming nature?

03. Volunteering may mean missing some or all of the conference.

04. We have multiple volunteering roles on the day from; marshalling, photographer, videoing, video editor (post conference), reviewing, greeting guests and more.

Event Cheerleaders

Can you organise a race day cheer spot for our #FantasticFundraisers, or would like to be part of one?

What We're Looking For

01. To be available during one of the big events, London Marathon, Great North Run, Great Manchester Run, London 10,000 etc

02. To either attend to be part of a cheer team or organise your own cheer spot for Team OCD-UK.

03. Be fun, friendly, welcoming and of course happy to support Team OCD-UK.

04. Will involve standing around for several hours waiting for runners, so will need to be fit to stand for 2-3 hours (or more).

Awareness Champions

Are you confident enough to talk about your experiences of OCD to a small audience?

What We're Looking For

01. Are you confident enough to talk about your OCD to a small local audience (10-40 people) where opportunities arise and have a decent understanding about other types of OCD to answer questions?

02. Do you want to represent OCD-UK and become a local OCD Awareness Champion in your area?

03. Able to talk with or without PowerPoint.

04. Although you may be called on all year round to talk about your experiences, can you specifically look to plan your own talk at some point during OCD Awareness Week (second full week in October).

05. Have some flexibility with your work to be able to take a couple of hours off when opportunities arise (we will try and give you several weeks' notice where possible).

Research Participation

Are you willing to share your time and experiences with OCD researchers?

What We're Looking For

01. Are you happy to honestly and openly talk about your OCD with carefully selected NHS researchers?

02. Are you happy to complete forms that researchers may send?

03. Are you happy to submit your email address to be added to our research mailing list. This will never be shared with researchers, we will only use this to notify you when new research participation is available.

Media Champions

Are you confident enough to talk about your experiences of OCD to local or national radio / newspapers / magazines?

What We're Looking For

01. Are you confident enough to talk about your OCD within a public setting? You can choose if you want to do radio, newspapers, magazine, local or national.

02. We will carefully select which publications we work with, and do our best to ensure your dignity is respected.

03. Are you comfortable knowing family, friends or colleagues may read or hear your story?

Graphic Design

Are you creative? Can you create illustrations or work with Adobe Indesign to create publications?

What We're Looking For

01. Can you create graphics to help illustrate articles and stories?

02. Or can you use Adobe InDesign to create publications and be willing to work on small leaflets to large magazines?
