OCDUKYA Louisa

I’ve actually only just been diagnosed with OCD a few months ago, and for a while I was completely distancing myself from my dad as I felt as though he wouldn’t understand, and he couldn’t do anything to help me. Slowly, I started to explain to him about my OCD and how it has affected me, and it’s actually helped immensely.

I understand that a lot of people are unable to confide in their parents or guardians, but even if it’s just through using a helpline or telling a teacher or friend, I really do think it helps to have other people’s support and understanding. That way they are able to make sure they steer away from triggering topics, and they may be able to help when your OCD is particularly bad, if you just find a way to let them 🙂

Kindest Regards,

Louisa
