Conference Visitor FAQs
Our concessions ticket option is subject to availability and operates and sold on a trust basis. We hope those who are working and those that can afford the General Admission ticket price will choose that ticket option, by doing so that helps contribute to keeping the concession ticket price low for those who otherwise wouldn't be able to visit.
Our affordable concession ticket is intended for:
- Young People (aged under 18)
- Students – in full-time education
- Seniors – 65+ on benefits
- Unwaged
If the ticket price is a barrier to you attending and you wouldn't be able to visit, please reach out to us by emailing conference@ocduk.org and we will do all we can to help you.
We have worked hard to keep the cost of our conference tickets as affordable as possible, and the price of our concessions ticket option is set at an amount that the charity can cover the cost per person. Whilst we would like to make the price lower, we have to ensure the charity costs are covered. For example, during the day we provide each attendee with refreshments and lunch, and each attendee is also given a delegate pack to assist them on the day (conference programme, notepad, pen etc). The price for the concession ticket allow us to cover those costs incurred by the charity.
Sometimes people don't realise, the cost to run such a conference runs into many thousands of pounds which OCD-UK have to cover, we have priced the conference in a way that we will help us cover those costs, hopefully, without making a loss on the day. Therefore, we hope those who are working and those that can afford the General Admission ticket price will choose that ticket option, by doing so that helps contribute to keeping the concession ticket price low for those who otherwise wouldn't be able to visit.

Yes, there are lifts between floors. The lecture theatre is tiered, however there is level access to the top tier of the lecture hall via a back door which is accessible via the lift. We can reserve seats/space at the top level for those with accessibility requirements. Please email us to reserve a seat.
The AccessAble website has additional information regarding accessibility across the building by clicking here.
The majority of your ticket price goes into the cost of running of the event, which will cost the charity over £11,000.
If there is any surplus once the conference costs are covered, this will be put towards continuing our day-to-day support operations (helpline and support groups) to help support people affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
On the day our priority will be to give attendees the best possible experience, but we will endeavour to record the conference, which will eventually be made available to OCD-UK members.
A sandwich lunch is included on the day of the conference, if you have any dietary requirements, including allergies we request you include this information on the booking form when you book your conference tickets. We have included a box to capture that information on the booking form.
We have to provide food information to the venue approximately three weeks before the conference, so please book your tickets in plenty of time to allow us to pass that information on.
Our conference will start no earlier than 9:45am, although we recommend guests aim to get there no later than 9:30am to ensure you can clear registration and find your seat in the lecture theatre. Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival.
The conference will end no later than 5:30pm. We will keep to a strict timetable in the afternoon session to ensure we finish on time to allow people to plan their onward journey. If using public transport, please allow approx. 10-15 minutes walk to the tram stop, and around 15 minutes journey time to the mainline train station in Nottingham (trams are on average every 7-10 minutes).
Yes!
We will provide more details on the 'Getting Here' page of the website. There is space for approx. 50 cars around the lecture theatre and additional 400+ car parking spaces all around the campus. Car parking is on a first come, first served basis.
We would also recommend considering the local tram park and ride at Toton Lane (NG9 7JA) which offers free car parking for 1,400 cars just off the A52 and is located about three minutes drive from junction 25 of the M1. Trams run every 7-10 minutes with a journey time of around 15 minutes to the university.
As a thank you, OCD-UK members receive a 10% discount off the cost of general admission or health professional ticket prices.
The discount code will be published in the members magazine (August 2025) and will be posted in the members area of the website. If you are a brand new member and have not yet received your membership pack, please email conference@ocduk.org and we will be happy to email you the discount code (please allow 24 working hours).
Possibly, subject to the date you submit your refund request. To request a refund please email office@ocduk.org and we will endeavour to process within 5 working days.
By Sunday 19th October (23:59)
Up to 30 days before the conference we can issue a refund, less a 10% administrative fee which is to cover charity costs for the original booking admin time and PayPal processing fees.
After Sunday 19th October
We have to notify and pay our venue for the attendee count a couple of weeks before the event date, so after this date we are sadly unable to provide any refunds. We can allow you to transfer the ticket name to another person should you wish to.
