OCD-UK Webinar Series 2026

Misophonia: when small sounds become a big problem

Broadcast live on Tuesday 21st July 2026

Speaker

Dr Jane Gregory
The webinar was facilitated by Zoe, from the OCD-UK team.

Presentation subject

This webinar will give a brief overview of misophonia and what makes it so tricky to understand and to change. It will cover the additional challenges when someone has both OCD and misophonia, and how to decide which one to tackle first.
About the speakers
Jane Gregory is a clinical psychologist specialising in misophonia, which is when people have intense emotional reactions to small sounds like eating and breathing. She previously worked with people with OCD at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma at the Maudsley Hospital in London, before moving to Oxford to research misophonia. She has personal experience of misophonia and is passionate about involving people with lived experience at every stage of research. Jane is interested in the challenges of asking for help with conditions like OCD and misophonia, which are often completely misunderstood by the public and healthcare providers, making it hard to talk about and even harder to feel heard.
Research Opportunity
Dr Gregory has a mailing list to be notified about potential research opportunities around Misophonia. Click here to visit her website and to sign up to her mailing list.
