"I created this letter to show how ridiculous and over the top most of the common misconceptions of OCD are. OCD suffers can suffer the symptoms included, but the most important thing is to educate yourself and not make a joke of OCD. Don't believe what you have heard unless it is from a reliable source. Please don’t stereotype" - Celeste

Dear Prospective Employer,

I’m so OCD!

I will always arrive extra early and clean everything in the office. If I see pens out of order I will organise and straighten them and even colour co-ordinate them.

My OCD makes me super at everything. I see things other people don’t and my brain works faster than a ‘normal’ person.

I have not tried flying but I am sure I can also do this.

I am a germaphobe; if you employ me you will need to buy me special soap and sanitizer, this will have to be replenished regularly and of course the office will have to be disinfected every evening.

I will repeat this too just to make sure it has been done properly.

I also will open and close windows and doors and turn lights on and off.

In my spare time, when I am riding my horses from my stables on my estate, I think to myself and I realise only people who are white and own half of London, like myself can get OCD as it is strictly a VIP club.

Tomorrow, instead of cleaning my hands with antibacterial gel after I touch everything. I will come into work and not clean my hands because I do not feel like it and I do not have to.

I think I should oversee everything and everyone as I like to control people, especially people without OCD.

I feel I have to tell you, last week I murdered three people and kicked a child in the face but I washed my hands and that helped a bit.

I still feel guilty about all the others though.

I do choose to have OCD because I believe it gives me more of a personality and makes me more interesting and people can pity me.

I have one request, please ensure all employees never say the word ‘orange’ or the number ‘64’.

I know I am weak willed and need to relax.

Yours,

An OCD sufferer
