2022 Virtual OCD-UK Conference - Welcome to Hotel OCD-UK, flying the flag for recovery!
Meditation with Tim
Presentation subject
Hi I am Tim I am a grateful attendee to OCD-UK's zoom support groups. I have found a lot of healing by attending regularly to the groups and really wanted to give something back to the community that has helped me so much! In terms of qualifications I am a trained Qigong teacher with the Shiatsu college. Qigong is a practice that involves mindful movement and connection to the body and the environment surrounding it. Its a deeply healing practice and has given me so much, meditation is a key part of it. I have also trained with the MISP (mindfulness in schools project) to teach mindfulness to 7 - 11 year olds. Before that I have been meditating for years as love the peace it brings!
OCD is still a daily struggle for me and there is certainly some more specific OCD related work I need to do so I am hoping the conference can give me some more help in that area. But I definitely believe that any work we can do in the direction of learning to look after and be kind to ourselves makes a big difference and can help us in ways we don't at first expect!
