2022 Virtual OCD-UK Conference - Welcome to Hotel OCD-UK, flying the flag for recovery!

Meditation with Tim

 Saturday 19th November 2022
 4:15pm - 5:00pm

Presentation subject

This session will have two meditations. The first meditation will help us to land in the virtual room, get comfortable and familiarise ourselves with using the breath to calm and centre ourselves. The second meditation will focus on self-forgiveness. It's so easy with OCD to feel like it's our fault and we are doing something wrong and if only we could try a bit harder or be better in some way then we would be free of it. This meditation will focus on easing the intensity of that voice so that when we do take action it is from a loving place, rather than self-criticism. I hope you can join us!
About the host

Hi I am Tim I am a grateful attendee to OCD-UK's zoom support groups. I have found a lot of healing by attending regularly to the groups and really wanted to give something back to the community that has helped me so much! In terms of qualifications I am a trained Qigong teacher with the Shiatsu college. Qigong is a practice that involves mindful movement and connection to the body and the environment surrounding it. Its a deeply healing practice and has given me so much, meditation is a key part of it. I have also trained with the MISP (mindfulness in schools project) to teach mindfulness to 7 - 11 year olds. Before that I have been meditating for years as love the peace it brings!

OCD is still a daily struggle for me and there is certainly some more specific OCD related work I need to do so I am hoping the conference can give me some more help in that area. But I definitely believe that any work we can do in the direction of learning to look after and be kind to ourselves makes a big difference and can help us in ways we don't at first expect!

This conference workshop will not be recorded and is only available live.

Make a donation to OCD-UK
We know that right now we are all living through difficult times financially, and it’s for that reason we have chosen to make our conference free access this year. Whilst the conference is free access, the charity does still have to pay Zoom and Vimeo license fees which power our online conference, so if you are in a position to make a donation of any amount, we would be incredibly grateful. It is only through donations, and the participation of our supporters fundraising activities that OCD-UK can survive, so we remain incredibly grateful for your consideration.
