The national OCD charity, run by and for people with lived experience of OCD
To the recently diagnosed,
I was diagnosed with contamination and order OCD nearly three years ago. Since then I have had two years of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Exposure Response Prevention. Ever since I started therapy, I have been working towards recovery. A future not affected by OCD.
OCD is treatable and in time will become easier. It’s not forever and after your first therapy session, it will never be this bad again. You can never go back to not knowing.
A diagnosis does not define you, it’s just an explanation for your current struggles.
It will be okay,
